This place is getting expensive again... 0 -
Dang it! I just got the 67 like a week ago. I'm gonna be so broke! 0 -
I came to this forum to ask about the custom shop, but I'm glad to see this.
Thank you so much for posting this. I always wanted to handle a Benchmade bowie bali in person.
The steel handles are going to make this a bad-ass knife!0 -
I passed on the 62, I passed on the 67, but I bit on the 63. 0 -

No problem! I wish I had the cash to get one of these and a 67 haha.0 -

Me 2. I passed on the 62 'cuz I figured it was too much like my 42.
Now, here I go again...I had the 42 in 2-3 varieties, 43, 46...and sold them all off except my 42C. Now I'm starting the cycle over...oh well...

$227 shipped is what I paid for mine0 -
I am not personally into Butterfly Knives myself (I would probably cut my own fingers off..LOL), but I have to admit that there appears to be some very Handsome ones becoming available..

Yep! Glad I didn't order it earlier. Every little bit helps.0 -
Received mine this weekend, and really love it. The blade is marked First Production - 62 of 300.
The blade grind is gorgeous. The knife functions perfectly. It came with an amazingly sharp edge on it. I really like the handle construction. The "Zen" pin construction provides a better sharpened edge to overall length ratio. Pivot side play is minmimal, and the knife swings without any friction.
The blade is very functional. It cuts very well, and the edge sweep at the tip makes it a good spreader as well as a good slicer. The spine is crowned, which is a nice touch.
I like the new latch. It is quite functional. No problems with it getting caught between the handles. I miss the excellence of the Morpho spring latch, but not much.
After swinging 42s and Morphos for so long, the weight of the steel handle is surprising. Even before I got it out of the box, I was thinking, wow, this thing is hefty. The finish on the handles is quite smooth also. I am a little nervous about grip, but that will probably go away as I get used to the weight again.
It's great to have a bowie bali again, and this is a fantastic knife. Great value for the price. It feels good to take stock and see the bali collection growing again - 42C, 42L, 42T, 35, 53, 32, and 63.0 -
Mine will be here today!!! Gonna be a long Friday at work followed by a NASCAR like trip home to beat my wife to the mailbox. 0 -
LOL I've had to race the mail home before too.
The bowie on the 63 is perfection! This has been my favorite bali I have ever gotten from Benchmade.quote:Originally posted by Badhammer:

your favorite? over a 42 or 43?0 -
I have had 42s. And did like the spring latch. For an EDC the 42 would be much better. As a collector who only flips once in a while for entrainment the 63 is a better fit for me.
And the fit and finish on the handles are very impressive on the 6X series.
Never had a 43.
If I had an extra $350 around I would still try to find a good 42. (Spring latch with pocket clip)quote:Originally posted by Jedi:quote:Originally posted by newcollector09:

These new ss handles are quite a bit heavier than the Ti.
The difference really surprised me.0 -
#204 arrived yesterday and I'm quite pleased. Very sharp, not a single blemish and very smooth. Latch is tight, tighter than my 62 and 67.
I do notice that the blade marking is a lot darker than on my BM62 which is also a frist run. On the 62 you can barely read the production number in a strong light but it's very clear on the 63.0 -
I might pull the trigger and grab one of these to satisfy my itch to grab B.M bali with a bowie grind. Never had a 43 so I hope this will do. 0 -

As I get used to the weight of a stainless steel bali again, I'd say yes, I like it better than the 42.
I like the 42 spring latch, and I like the lightness of the handles, but I like the zen pin design better. The sharpened blade length on the 63 is about 1/8" longer, and the handle is about 3/16" or so shorter...and I really love the blade grind.

I just hate worrying about the D2 rusting.... 0 -
Po why do you like the zen pin design better? 0 -
