Cut some stuff, and tell us how it works for you. Compare it to something else. Big snoozer otherwise...nice photography though.
This may not be a big thing for most people here, but I like to see reviews actually posted HERE, not just a link to somebody's blog and Facesmack. The former is a contribution to this community, the latter more self-promotion.0 -

I am just reviewing my personal collection of knives. Unfortunately I don't have a ton of them to compare one to another. And I've only been into knives as a hobby for about 4-5 months now. So this is all a new learning curve for me. I do appreciate your feedback though and will use it to better upcoming reviews from stuff I have. And from now on I will post the review in the thread

That's outstanding ScottH. I will certainly look forward to seeing more of those beautiful pics!0 -
I just posted some videos of the 810 and 275 being used and abused and beat up:
If anyone would like to see it here is a link to the first one in the series:

I bought my first 275 when I was deployed earlier this year and I love it, but I ended up carrying my Centego a lot more often.0 -
Great youtube videos! I can't wait to see the day 3 results! 0 -
Hey mikepinto I saw your videos about a week ago cool to see your on the forums. I like your videos and recently subed to you 0 -

THAT'S the spirit...that's what I'm talkig about...beat knife!
Well done, Mike. Fun and informative vids. Something to wear the coating off.0 -
How thick is the Adamas, and how does it ride in the front pocket of a pair of jeans?
I've been hesitant to purchase one, and have been favoring other models for my next BM purchase, because the Adamas looks so bulky.
Is the axis lock on it much more beefy than most BM knives? How does it compare to the 810's lock?0 -
The Adamas isn't to bad to carry for me if your used to carrying bigger knives I don't think it will be to bad for you. The only reason I don't carry mine everyday is because I work at a grocery store and the blade is a little bigger than what I need to cut tape and plastic. 0 -
Too big for me to carry but a must to own! 0 -
I love mine and carry it everyday in my pocket 0 -
they are big knives but really don't carry that badly in pocket. I'd probably carry one every day if they made an M4 run. 0 -

I like the 275 but it is such a shame that the scales are painted (not solid Sand G-10), I just can't get over that point now...

The Axis lock on this knife is larger than an 810. IMHO the price for the black one is well worth it. I wanted a tan one until I found out they were black painted tan. But then I saw this one.... 0 -
I still love them in Tan, just not that it's painted..

i dont care about the paint, now the handle will have as many love marks as the blade. but in all honesty me and keyman are talking about upgrading mine with lightning strike CF.
not because of the paint but because most of the knives i own are G100 -

Now that sounds like a Fantasic idea, Keyman does a fantasic job and I am sure it would come out Amazing...

Good discussion going on.
How many owners of Tan 275's have problems with paint coming off? I was thinking of getting tan until I heard about the problem, but I wonder know how bad it really is?
Will Keyman's material be thick enough for a 275? I asked him bout using the twill on Griptillians and he said it wasn't thick enough. Of course the micarta would be thick enough.
Final question for 275 owners, is the blade long enough? Seems a little short compared to the handle? How is the blade feel?0 -
the paint chipping is very minimal. the blade is almost 4 inches long so its not short the handle just has plenty of purchase 0 -

Geo,
The way it was explained to me was that the Rangers wanted an exact Tan color and Benchmade couldn't do that so the next best option was to use a painted coating.
If the knife is used then as it's intended (it is NOT a gentleman’s knife), you are going to get wear and chipping off the paint over time...
If Keyman would do his custom scales for you I am sure that they would be nothing less than spectacular, as all his work is and how Keyman does his work Benchmade has no issue with either...
It’s a big knife with I think a 4 inch blade, the only other I personally have with the 275 is that it’s D-2 Steel.
But that is just my personal preference and should have nothing to do others buying decisions..

I got my hands on my new 275bk the other day and haven't been able to put it down. This thing is built like a tank! The extra weight feels real nice. The fit in the hand is great. Lockup is super solid. Everything is centered perfectly. Plus this knife came out of the box shaving sharp! I was a little concerned with the size at first but it doesn't carry any differently than the 806 that I normally carry. At least I don't notice it any more. The black handled model that I got doesn't seem to be painted and is pleasingly smooth to the touch, easy to grab onto. There is plenty of jimping and it makes for good grip for any type of hand hold. I love this knife! Definitely a keeper for me! 0 -
this is a picture of the paint chip on my handle, its small and not overly noticeable, there is another one about the same size towards the butt of the knife 0 -
Ya I still think it is a shame about the painting of the scales, but it is what it is..

After reading these reviews I have decided to buy a 275bk very soon ; Do most of you carry this knife in pocket or on your side in pouch? 0 -
I am an in-pocket man myself. I really like the 275: it's a heavy duty knife.
By the way, welcome to the forum.

Thanks Trailboss, I am in-pocket myself but have never carried knife this big before , wasn't sure how comfy it will be sitting down ? I love it though so if it winds up in safe then that will be fine! 0 -
It carries pretty well considering its heft. If you want a big tough knife this is it. 0 -
Love this blade! I've had mine for a few weeks now and it has been fighting my 806 as my edc ever since! I thought that it might be a bit to much to cary in a front pants pocket but with the low ride pocket clip I barely notice it. Plus it is hardy enough to handle anything that I have thrown at it. Great edc/hard use knife! Yet another home run for BM! 0 -
Thanks again for your input guys. 0
