2016. Ready for another Ares?
What would you like to see on 2016 Ares?
Me personally, I wish Ares gets back the original "arrow" emboss on the G10 scales.
Maybe some really bright red G-10, or even bright-yellow?
Maybe VG-10 blade?

Honestly, I’m not a huge Ares fan, however, if I had to weigh in, I’d say that BKC would have to top last years Taiwanese dealer exclusive (730-1501), in regard to materials used.
You can’t really do much better than contoured CF scales and satin Bohler M390 (that’s my dream configuration for a user 531). If I could handpick materials for another 730 LE release, I’d want:
Scales: Contoured Carbon Fiber
Steel: SATIN CPM-M4 (OR) SATIN S110V
Barrel Spacers: BLACK Oxide

Satin blade, CPM M4 or CPM 20CV/M390 steel, no green in the G10. Definitely would like to see the "arrow" by the pocket clip come back. Price not more than $250 but much preferably closer to $200.
A little specific... I guess I can't help comparing to the 730-1202 and 730-1303. I've got the two that I really like and want already, haha.
I'd pick up something in M4 or 20CV to replace the S30V -1303.
Would not be down for VG-10. Elmax, CTS XHP, S35V... all steps sideways from S30V, not improvements to me. Not interested.
S90V/S110V, to much of a hassle to put a nice popping edge on. Not really interested in them, either.
Again, I realize I'm being pretty picky. I've just already got the perfect Ares for me in the 730-1202 and a very nice user in the 730-1303.0 -

But seriously, I too wish they would go back to the arrow emboss (I've been calling it 'the tail' ) on the scales. It's one of the little details that really sets off the looks of the original Ares.
I'd go for CPM20V steel, and maybe a return to the wood/CF scales in hommage to the 733's.
Just no more green G10.
And now that we will soon be able to carry autos here in WV, I want an auto-AXIS Ares.0 -

Haha, I know in in the minority on this one. I love the solid, forest green G10. The sandy green layered with black (i.e. 615-1401, 551-1401, 531-1301) doesn't do as much for me.
That said, if the 53x-1 with CF and M390 or 20CV or M4 or what ever actual comes to fruition, I'd buy at least a couple myself. And I RARELY buy multiples. Maybe gold or red barrel spacers, since we've seen so much blue the last couple years.0 -
Oh and let me not forgot the 162 with the same green. 0 -
