Well that’s just sweet...
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again:
The Presidio II is absolutely awesome!
And now I have to buy another one.0 -
I want one. 0 -
dunno... what you think, tb? 0 -
How does one get this?? 0 -
Interesting conversation piece. 0 -
I like it .....Iam not as much of a steel snob any more these days. 0 -
I kinda am...
But I still love the 570.
And at least now it comes in a manual PE & BK configuration. Been waiting on that...
To anyone who hasn’t handled a 570 yet:
Do yourself a favour and get yer butt down to your local knife shop and get one in hand!
Whether you line this LE or not, I’m tellin’ ya, the redesigned Presidio II isn’t messing around.
Desitined for greatness, even.0 -

I think it’s bitchin’. What is the street price going to be? I have held off on the Pres II so far because I have so many M4 and S30v 520. But I may need to grab one of these.0 -

Well I,ll have to find one of these......... I quit buying knives basically , but this is another one calling me ....lOL 0 -
I loved the Presidio II design, but haven't gotten one yet, because just plain black or black and satin was always kind of boring to me. Luckily I like ramen, because I know where this month's budget is going... 0 -
Hmmmm. Now the hunt to track one down! 0 -

not sure feelin' it, myself. probably will need to see it in wild before committing one way or other. honestly, i still have an issue with these missing the pardue stamp of approval as it were....0 -
Wow, that's ****ing cool... 0 -
Super cool, imo. That said, I have a line on a satin Pres II at a cheap price, and I am not thinking this model is worth $60-ish more.
Am now on the fence.0 -

I’ve got to agree with you, TB.
I’d say try the regular 570 first.
Looking forward to hearing what you think of it.0 -
There where some pics on BM’s Instagram vid today and I have to say it looks very nice, I love that no two knives will be the same. 0 -
Who’s got one of these in hand???
I’ve got one on the way, and am wondering about the coating, specifically. The feel, the durability...
Are these coated scales really that much more durable than those of the regular 570?
I know there’s not a ton of people who prefer aluminum scales, but I admit that I’ve warmed up to them in recent years. I think Benchmade has done a great job with the Al scales they’ve been putting out as of late. I can tell you from experience that the 490 & the 570’s anodization holds up incredibly well.
If this -1801’s hardcoat anodization is any tougher, then that’s amazing.
I’m really looking forward to getting mine in.0 -
Picked mine up last week. The hardcoat feels similar to the regular, but I haven’t done any scratch testing yet. 0 -

Thank you sir.
I don’t know why I was thinking it might have a different feel...
Don’t go scratchin’ yours up purposely now, though.
Jason:
Is this really a more durable coating than that of the original 570? Is it done similarly to the new 275BK-1801 Adamas?0 -

According to the tests we've done, yes. Keep in mind that our testing is lab-specific though. Hard to field test to failure in a timely manner, and equally hard to get apples-to-apples data.
It's a different coating than the 275BK-1801.0 -

Great, thank you sir.
I figured the coating process was most likely different, being G10 vs. aluminum.
Some sort of hardcoat anodization vs. dye sublimation.
Points noted regarding the lab testing.
No worries.
At least Benchmade’s design engineers can answer questions in a timely manner.
Most appreciated.0 -
