Looks like an REI model
Figures afyer holding out for years i finally surrendered to the 940 fever too0 -
Rei already did s knife this year. 0 -
If this is indeed 940 with different hardware, it is exciting and want to know the details as well.
DJ, I too wish BKC tried S110V.

It's defiantly a 940. 0 -
Oh Jason where are you? We Forum Faithful wish to know details. Thanks 0 -
Well, that’s definitely a teaser, that’s for sure. Just wish Benchmade PR would take the time to post here once and a while. I liked when Mikey would post new materials and close-ups of up-and-coming knives in “Area-42,” but that forum has since fizzled out..
Regarding the 940, my gut’s saying some sort of green/purple G10, but I’m hoping for Ti.. Either way, I’m sure this one will be cool
I might pass if the steel is cerakoted though.. Can’t stand that coating.0 -

ats-34 vs 154cm
M390 vs 20cv
same thing...0 -
That jimping at the butt says G10 to my mind, but I hope I'm wrong. 0 -

Such a madenning tease. Might be awesome might be just cosmetic. The 940-1 is as perfect as any knife I've owned for what it is, it's perfect. The 940-1501 is just ho hum IMO. For sixty bucks more if I could do it over again I'd buy 2 940-1 before getting another 1501 yhe one I got was off center and can't be centered woth tweaking and the pivot pin screw lossens every 20-30 flicks open resulting in blade play. Every day sometimes half a day of carry and the pivot screw needs to be tightened. I'll send it in to BM at some point. Hope this isnt just another G10 cpm 20cv model but if it is I still want one lol 0 -

Blue loctite0 -
Totally woth the locktite! Its so off center and I have fidgeted with it quite a bit so i figured Id just send her into BM lofesharp and ask them to center it. If it still rattles open with flicking the axis lock after that Ill hot ot woth blue locktite.
Thanks PM0 -
1) real teaser, maybe replacement for 940-1 being a 940-2 with back jimping & green standoffs
2) I've only purchased 1.5 940-1501 both perfectly centered. More experienced knife technicians than me have explained loosening the pivot , and screws on the standoffs on side where the blade is closest & then tightening the standoff screws on other side to center the blade.
Hope it works for you but sending it back to Benchmade for a tune up is fool proof0 -
Hammer, I love the 940-2 speculation and I hope you are right. 0 -
It’s probably a limited edition or GC..
If it was a new/updated regular production model, BKC would have released the specs with all of the 2016 releases.. Unless it’s slated for next year.0 -
PM, won't bet against a LE, but too simplistically elegant for a Gold Class. Your new EDC is one of the few Gold Class that is beautiful & not gaudy. Could be first of Po's new Sliver Class. 0 -
BMK Jason needs to give us at least a hint! Yell is what it isnt, anything? 0 -
Take a real close like at the pic on Instagram, standoffs looks to be green and blade just might be damasteel. Just a guess...... 0 -
I think its damasteel look at the top edge of blade there is a pattern there I dont thinkbits just the light reflection. 0 -
the standoffs are green as per another picture
can't tell on the steel though0 -
Where is the other picture? 0
