Wow, I'm surprised the M4 didn't chip on the tip strength test. 0 -
Excellent
Good to know they’ll go through hell and back
Thanks for responding!0 -
Thank you! I've been eagerly awaiting this test and it was worth the wait.
Confirmed what I already knew and solidified the Contego as my favorite currently in production, production knife!
Great job guy's and thanks again!0 -
Holy moly! Now to see how it does compared to it's younger brother, the Rift... 0 -
You guys should get some steaks to cut through 0 -
Peter, you need a vacation to let your arm hair grow back! 0 -
Thanks Peter + Tracy,
Worth the wait to see the new tests on video.
Thanks and keep up the great work - so that's how you say CONTEGO

It was impressive,
thanks for going in on my suggestion to test the stop pin.
And after all it cut celery

Amazing!
The Contego is becoming my go to knife, it has it all, a thick 4MM spine that tapers off to a flat grind for excellent cutting ability, the blade is large enough to be "tactical" and after I took it apart and sanded down the rough texture it's got just the right combination of grip and comfort and it sits good in the pocket to boot, a winner in all aspects.0 -
Excellent video! Nice to see ya mixing it up a bit with cutting materials. Another quality product from Benchmade. Keep up the great work!

the Contego is an excellent knife. the tests just bring more validity for us that already felt that way. 0 -
Another great vid, i like seeing the additional tests.
Thanks0 -
Great vid! Best one yet in my opinion. I love my Contego and carry it all the time. Great performing blade. I'm looking forward to the CATRA results.
Did the blade return to true after the tip strength test or was there some plastic deformation? It was hard to tell in the vid. Thanks for the great videos guys!0 -

It returned to true, I'll be honest I was kinda surprised. Tracy called me over to the machine and made me watch, cause I didn't believe her at first. Ran the test several times, blade wouldn't snap.

Damn! Gotta love that M4
It's good knowing you can abuse the hell out of it and it will still perform.
Thanks Peter/Tracy0 -
That's awesome!!! Love this M4 even more now. Gotta love modern powder metallurgy! Thanks guys! 0 -

Dang! I'm really glad I just got a Contego. Now I just have to figure out why there's a hint of vertical play and how to fix it and this knife might become my go-to camping knife.0 -
I suggest Tomatoes and potatoes and onions and peppers for the cutting test. not all in every test. but maybe one different veggie per test depending on knife tested 0 -
Who cares about veggies...cut up some cans and then shave arm hair.
How bout cutting up a radiator hose or a serpentine belt??0 -
Or the sidewall of a tire, puncturing oil filters repeatedly as if you used the knife as an oil filter wrench... Real work use by me, along with cutting roots out of the ground in silty/gravelly dirt or prying rocks out of the ground. Perhaps cutting branches, done a fair bit of that too. 0 -

Just laziness, and honestly, just beating on it to see how they hold up. Like most knife users, hard use.0 -
