520 variations?
In what steels have 520s come out? Are there any out there right now with M4 or M390?

The 520 Presidio has come out in 154CM and CPM-M4. The Presidio Ultra has 440C steel and a polymer handle. Unfortunately, you just missed the last 520bk-1101 Presidio with M4 steel by about a month, however, the 525bk-1101 (the smaller brother) is still available in very limited quantities at KW. A 520 in M390 would be just about perfect for the knife.0 -
Ha! I just posted an answer to the question one minute after Loonybin. That's ok, his answer was more complete.
FWIW, some members may have an extra M4 520 that they would be willing to sell if you posted a request in the "Member want to BUY Benchmades" forum.0 -
I am not so sure M390 is all that. However an M4 520 is awesome, cuz, you know, the 520 deserves an M4 blade. M4 suits the knife very well.
Do not forget the S30v LE. That one is great as well.0 -
TB, I forgot about the S30V LE. Was it a foreign LE? 0 -

For those of us who prefer satin blades, M390 would provide all the benefits of M4 with the added benefit of a satin stainless finish.
And I wasn't aware of the s30v model. Got pics?0 -

Some German special police team or mil unit wanted the knife and a run of 100 was as small as BM would produce. They bought some and the rest popped up in various places here in the U.S. The blade is 3.25 inches, so yeah, a little shorter. The angles on the edges of the treads on the scales are not as acute so it feels smoother in-hand. It also is extremely smooth opening and closing. Very nice.
Here's an older pic of one of mine.
