560/Ritter sighting?
This was part of the same clip Wulff posted I'm guessing. Looks pretty clearly to be a ritter profile, but the BM logo is on the normal side on this one.

I assume the pricing will be around 149.95 on those scales. Glad I didn't start grip scales in Ti seemed like a waste on an inexpensive knife. may as well buy a better model 0 -
It does look like a Ritter blade. I bet the Ritter being discontinued was just a ruse to sell off the old models in time for a new and improved Ritter knife. 0 -

As much as like to agree, the jimping on Ritter has 8 grooves on 552 and 558, both goes beyond thumb stud.

Again, look at the jimping in relation to the thumb stud. Plus the blade angle. Not a 761/765.

I thought the same. To me, part of the appeal of the Ritter Grips is the stonewash finish. I'll take a look at these, assuming that's what it is, but not sure how interested I'd be.

Hans said it would rust overnight in the bins,but I've seen it uncoated on other brands without hearing any complaints.
I would like to have a premium steel that would patina like a grandpas old pocket knife...just for a change...I have plenty shiney or coated blades...0 -

Well, patina is slow formation of Fe3O4 and some Fe(OH)3
I think Hans is mentioning that CPM-M4 after tooling, it needs to be coated or it would rust (Fe(OH)3). Any knives, especially non-stainless steel are heavily coated with oil on one way or the other.0 -

Well, since Doug himself has said that Benchmade will not be producing his knives any more, I doubt this is an improved Ritter. I'm hoping the rest of the blade is different from Doug's design, too. Discontinuing his line only to steal the blade shape would not be cool!0 -

I have an uncoated M4 blade. It has some patina on it, but I've never had rust issues. I live in a dry climate though, which does help.0 -

Hopefully that is the case, and they list him among their designers. I find it interesting that Doug has not mentioned this being the case, though. I'm not the only one who sees the similarity and is wondering if Benchmade is cutting him out.0 -

I got the impression that the 552/558/152 we're getting the axe, presumably because most folks that are in the knise game deep enough to buy one or even know of it': existence, already have one. Seems to me he didn't rule out future collabs, in fact quite the opposite, hinting but not commenting on future releases.
One forum member (I can't recall exactly who) said the new blade was like a beefed up Ritter, only more Ritter-y, after seeing a prototype in person at Blade last year. I'm betting they put Doug's name on the normal/clip side, and made him a full fledged BM designer, instead of being an outside collaborator. This new knife then could be sold through all BM channels, not just through Knifeworks.0 -
As shown in "WeAreTheRoamans" post of Doug's quote. He does not say that BMK will no longer be producing his knives. He says they will "no longer be making the RSK1 and RSK3". Leaves the door open for something different. 0 -
