Was and is the new(to me) 477-1 Aqua. The most Easter colored knife I have. Finally getting used to the Assist Axis, and starting to enjoy it. Love the blade shape on this knife more than everything else about it, very nicely done. Happy Easter everyone. 0 -

PM thanks for the assist in posting the pics.
Word of caution, the blue twill is thinner stock than the usual CF. So upgrading from a normal 940 works best as far as reusing screws & pivot.0 -

PM, you know how you found your "grail knife", well years ago Benchmade sent me their yearly catalog & there it was on the front cover 940D2CF.
So I called immediately to Benchmade and was told they'd been shipped out to dealers months ago. I was told to check out EBay so I joined immediately! Found a couple, when I got the first it was even better than I expected. Now I was on a quest, I am up to 25 mix of 940D2CF & 941D2CF, throw in 940sCF from REI, 940-1 and DOAT, I've lots of safe queens. For a time I preferred the 941D2CF but been back to the 940D2CF as favorite.
Usually EDC 940-1 as it is a "no tears" knife, lose it & can have a new one Fedx in a day.
Where as if either of us lose a "Grail Knife" not so easy to replace.
Saw you ordered another REI 530, I kinda hope it becomes your EDC & the "Grail Knife" get move to an alter with candles & incense

25 D2CF’s!That’s awesome! I used to think TDOGG was the 94X nut, but you might have surpassed him in that regard. I’d need to see pics of both of your collections (pretty please!) lol
I can see why the D2CF’s are your favorites, I prefer those over the -1’s as well. The ano'ed backspacer is classic 94X, and the barrel spacer’s leave something desired for me personally.

It wasn’t the REI model, I picked up another Dealer/NIB Gold Class 531-132 to keep as a safe queenHad to have at least one more of my fav BM just in case.

PM it's the classic clam shell with that Ti spacer, to me it is more elegant.
I do understand why Benchmade went to spacers,
As I was collecting the 94xD2CFs I hand to send a lot back because where the two sides of the clam shell meet the Ti there were gaps. Grind just a tad too much & you create a gap. With the 940-1 tolerances don't appear to need to be so exact0 -

That’s interesting, I’ve never heard of anyone having that problem.. Must have been an issue with carbon fiber specific modelsI only have the 941CFV for comparison and it appears to not have any gaps. Did any other models have similar issues?
