Torx Bit Sizes
Hi everyone,
I'm shopping for the most economical Wiha torx set, but don't know the common sizes of screws used on my knives. Any info is much appreciated!

Nate again thanks
Bill, have you tried blue Locktite for your 940?
/|\ Thanks MFL, I prefer not to use locktite. The T6 screws on the 940 do not loosen up often. Having the T6 on the key ring is for potential emergencies. Having said that one of the 940-1 I use as an EDC the pivot screw nearly fell out couple weeks back. I retightened it & if it loosens up like that again I ‘ll have to go to locktite.0 -
Bill, I’ve had it with the blue box poor fit with it’s torx bits. I’ve actually had the tips disintegrate trying to remove stuck screws! I like the blue box idea so I replaced all the crappy torx bits with Wiha’s. So happy I did. No problems at all since. I just finished making a new set of snakewood scales for an old mini-AFCK that had Phillips screws for the clip and the small screws were either a T5 or an Allen. The T5 fit perfectly so that’s what I used. Some of the other older models I have also used the same set of Phillips and T5 so I have a full range of Wiha torx sizes for those models too.
Nate thanks for the suggestion of the keychain set. I went ahead and ordered the set. Can’t wait to check them out. On their website they say only the T10 and T8 are Wiha and the T6 is from Wera. Seems odd?0 -
/|\ Yes blue box concept better than a few of its parts. Ruined 2 T6 bits on a 940-2 screw (too much locktite from factory) had DOAT’s drill screw out so I could add the custom handles. He even saved the 940-2 handle from ruin.
Yes noticed T6 wasn’t wiha. Possible typo?
I like old blue box with soft plastic better than hard plastic, afraid latter going to crack in use,0
