14716?
Anyone else see this? Mini version of the 14715... perhaps it's already been brought up a long time ago and I missed it. Also a -1 in brown g10 which I seem to like a lot more than all black.
Seems a nice alternative to the mini grip.
Not really sure where I'm going with this thread other than mentioning something that I'm not sure everyone saw.

Ordered mine a couple days ago. I was on the fence all last year about the 14715. So when they came out with a smaller version in brown, buying was automatic. 0 -
I like the full size so Ill try that mini for fun. 0 -
The brown looks nice and they are a heck of a deal. Wish they had a stonewashed blade. 0 -
DOAT, I think it is the sleeper of the new knives for 2015. D2, tan G-10 , axis lock. Lots of great features at the price point.
I too would prefer a satin finished tanto blade, but "as is" I see it nudging my mini CQC7 out of my pocket in states with sub-3" max blade.
The 485 is the new knife that got my attention but this maybe the better value.
Question is M390 worth $50 more than D2?
Regards to all Bill0 -
I'm having a hard time kicking this new 14715 out of my pocket. It looks great and has a nice size and weight.
The handle is 4-5/8" and the blade is 3-9/16". I mentioned in another thread about the increased grippiness of this brown G-10, which is a plus.
Think of a thinner, lighter 520 with D2 steel.0 -
Looks like a good alternative to the 903 mini stryker, with better blade steel. 0 -
I had one of the black 14715s and it was an outstanding knife. Not beautiful, but very ergonomic and strong. It was a little hard for it to take pocket time away from my custom Grips and Barrages, but the small one might be something very unique, an interesting alternative to the Mini Griptile indeed, could steal some pocket time away from my mini Barrages. Gonna give it a try. 0 -
The price is so awesome on these things too. Not to mention I am a huge D2 fan. 0 -

Arrived today. I really like it.
Initial impression:
Only slightly smaller than a mini grip, but very well made. Better centered than my custom shop mini grip and just as smooth to open. Grippy G10 but not overly aggressive.
Again, I really like it.0 -

Great comparison pics Thanks Bill 0 -
I really like the brown. It just looks altogether better in brown for some reason. 0 -
Great pics. Thanks Shuutr!
What's that tan Mini Grip, is that a new generation traction pattern?
Haven't seen it before...0 -
I like it. 0 -

Po, it's a Cabeles exclusive. They offer both large and small in coyote. I have a large and like it.0 -
I really like my 14715. It is very appealing with D2 and price for 14716, or 14717. This series' only drawback is the lack of lanyard hole.
If you don't mind not having that, then this is best value per buck IMO.0 -

Yeah, Cabelas exclusive pattern. It's different. Not better or worse than the original but different.0 -
Thanks! 0 -
I totally agree with Shuuter--not better, not worse, just different. This pattern is easier on your pants...if that kind of stuff bothers you. quote:Originally posted by Shuutr:

I am all in for the full size with the coyote G-10. 0 -
You are gonna like these knives once you try them. Rather bull terrierish in terms of beauty, but really stout, very ergonomic, excellent functional design. I decided the full size didn't fit in between my grips and Barrages, but the mini is gonna be a nice addition in the small tactical EDC category. 0
