Fantastic!!
Thank you to everyone at Benchmade for thinking of us!

Thanks Madelyn. Interesting survey. I'd like to talk to my peers before filling it out.
Who's down for a titanium anodized or dlc coated barrage? Wide open to suggestions and will go with the group on this one.0 -
Titanium handles on the Barrage, please.
DLC. Yes, I'm down.0 -
My preferences:
484
Blackwood like used on the 850-01
M390
Exclusive EDC
200-3000 -
Count me in for titanium handles on a barrage. My 2nd choice will be CF Barrage, probably with M390.. 0 -
Ti Barrage would be pretty hot, almost like a return to the 780.
Am I correct that every forum knife so far has had CF handles? If so, then I'd say keep CF for tradition or go Ti for some extra flair. I worry that it would put the price above what most want to spend, but I'd do my best to save up for it!0 -

My first choice was your second choice but only because the 484 already comes in cf. Same price range.0 -
Oh, and just thinking ahead, I wonder if the ordering process could be tweaked a bit this go-around. I remember in 2016 that some folks got 10 or more just to flip them, and a lot of forumites either stayed on hold forever or weren't able to get any at all because they sold out too quickly.
Not sure that I have any great suggestions here, but perhaps stricter quantity limits at first? Allow forum members to reserve knives early?
Just 2c. Regardless, I really appreciate Benchmade doing another forum knife. Thanks a million!0 -
Thanks for the great news, Madelyn
You can count me in but please make the purchase easier this year for the forumites from outside the U.S. like meLast year it was rather difficult...
Thanks!

That sounds awesome. I put 484 with micarta, to get something different from what's already available, but that blackwood sounds better yet.0 -
Thank you Les & Forum Moderators. 0 -

The forum knife will only be available domestically this year, sorry!0 -
To other Forum members,
As you can get a customize Barrage and / or Grip in the custom shop, & I believe they are a poor choice as a Forum Knife.0 -

Not if you dislike the Nakamura...
Plus they don't offer Ti or DLC in the custom shop.
Or CF, or micarta, or C-TEK, or wood.
Or M390, or S90V...
You catch my drift.0 -

Thanks for this early info, Madelyn. So I will have to please an U.S. forumite to buy one for me.0 -
My preference would be the 484 in carbon fiber since all the others are that way. I have owned all 3 and you guys have done an outstanding job on each of them!! Thank you! 0 -

I like Titanium as well, but CF would provide lighter and non sipping texture. I agree that Titanium would cost more to machine it.0 -

Which is why CF is out for me. The Forum knife should be different , in my opinion, at least. I'll go with red micarta & S90V, please.. CF would be okay on the mini-Barrage, but I need at least a 3" blade. I'd buy a Forum Barrage (probably), but I'd never carry, then I'd end up selling it because I never carry it.

We've had 3 CF Forum knives...
I'd be fine with a 4th, and I can understand the want for following what seems like tradition.
But I'm all for normalizing titanium.
I think it'd be especially cool on the Mini Barrage.0 -

That's exactly what I was getting at.
With the advent of the 781 Anthem, I feel Benchmade is making a big statement with it's integral folder. While I'm not asking for an integral Forum knife, I really think it'd be cool for 2017 to be marked as 'The year of Titanium'.
I love the 790 Subrosa and it's action.
There's something about an assisted blade opening from a Ti handle that is really satisfying IMO.
Which is why I vote 585 in Ti.0 -

Ti is cool with nested liners (or as a frame-lock/monolock, but Ti scales with full metal liners strikes me as redundant.0 -

I knew you'd say that. I can see you're point.
But it also strikes me as awesome. Doesn't take anything away from the excellence of the knife IMO. Only adds to it.0 -

No joke, Marty. After I reassembled mine, it's ridiculously smooth. No blade-play, yet the blade just falls closed. I even thought about removing the Ti springs to see how it would work unassisted, but I didn't feel like hassling with disassembling again - the assist is snappy satisfying.

May I ask your preferred materials and steel?0 -
The 484 already comes in carbon fiber and S90v...
Would have to be a Barrage for me.0 -

+1000
How could the 484-1 be improved at all? I see no need for it.
In general, the Mini Barrage is sooool much cooler.0 -

Cf because I'm hoping for the original texturing/shaping
S90v
DLC
And I chose the color green.0 -
I voted for the barrage. CF, DLC m390, and a crowned spine. I don't know if there's enough material to crown it, but I asked just in case.
I didn't want ti because I need to be able to buy one for the wife... or else I don't get one.0
