Standoffs for 903 Axis Stryker?
Hi folks, I tried doing some searching. Anyone know if there is a source for standoffs to add a splash of color to the Axis strykers? Wouldn't matter if it was aluminum or Ti just something other than black, silver ok, but red, blue or green even better. Paging Keyman...

Both USA knife makers & knife kits carry several different sized standoffs in stainless.
I have many of those as well as some Ti ones in blue and maybe few in purple too.
However, I don't own a 903.
What's needed here is someone that has both a 903 and a set of calipers.
I would guess .165", maybe .175"?0 -

A word of caution, I swapped out my standoffs on a 940-1 for Ti standoffs acquired in the Forum Group purchase. Loved the way the Ti looked, but knife started having blade play ( side to side)
The orginal standoffs were keyed & the Ti were not. I believe the pockets in the CF handles for the keys left too big of holes for the Ti standoffs to get a solid footing on the CF handles & it caused the blade play.
When I put the keyed standoffs back in no blade play, just a perfect working knife.

You may want to PM Loonybin as he spearheaded the group buy & maybe able to point you in the right direction as to where to buy.

The size of the standoff is critical.
If the knife uses a factory back spacer/standoff that measures .165"; then a .175" should not be used.
In addition, the screws need to be tight with everything seated properly.
Many, if not most of BM's knives have keyed standoffs and I replace them all the time (literally hundreds & hundreds of times) with no adverse effects. In fact, many times this is positive change that allows a un-center-able blade to be centered.
The standoffs from loonybin that bill has mentioned were from one of my suppliers.
Looney contacted me looking for a source for colored Ti standoffs.
I explained to looney that these Ti standoffs were Ti alright however they do not come in colors and the end user would have to do any coloring/anodizing themselves.
Looney, being the great guy that he is, decided he would start a group buy and he himself would do all the anodizing for everyone.
No small chore, mind you.
It was an awesome thing for him to do. However, it turned out to be quite a bit more of a chore than was first expected.
Bill, I'm not trying to be contradictory here but I'm pretty sure you had something more than just keyless standoffs at play there.0 -

First again thanks to Loonybin I've used the colored Ti spaces on several 940s & really like them.
As to the 940-1 with the wobble, the wobble didn't developed until several months after I made the change to the Ti standoffs.
When the blade started to wobble I took it apart to see if there was dirt etc. I cleaned the parts reassemble & still had the wobble. So went back to the orginal keyed standoffs & it solved the problem. I am not a skilled craftsman like you or DOAT so when the keyed standoffs solved the wobble I thanked God and started carrying that 940-1 as my EDC for the last 2 months.
I also re purposed the Ti standoffs in a DOAT 940 handle & no wobble or any other problems.
Lastly if you or anyone else does a group Ti buy I am in
