2018 New models are released. Let’s discuss...
I am in on the Fixed Infidel. The Fact looks cool.
Looks like Benchmade has taken aim at the lightweight, small fixed blade market (Think ESEE Izula).
I will give the Follow Up a whirl...

What's special about the Boltaron used in the new Kydex-looking sheaths? In other words, how is it different than just regular Kydex? 0 -

It is tougher and more heat resistant.0 -
Fixed Infidel, but no fixed Bedlam? Lame! 0 -
I'll have a fixed Infidel, for sure.. 0 -

You said it.
Not the one I've been wishing for, but still very cool, IMO. I've gotta have one...
The Fact is really catching my eye and standing out as the folder I'm most wanting to try out. Oh man, I like what I see! It's topping my list. Next, the Vector seems promising, if not at least interesting, and worthy of checking out.
And COME ON!,
That DLC Altitude was made for me.
Gotta have one.
Not too sure about the Gold yet, personally.
Overall - lots of cool stuff, as usual.0 -

We got to handle the fixed infidel and the others at the Forum luncheon. The Forumites really seemed to dig the Infidel. I certainly did.
BM Jimmy, who also attended the luncheon, is on board w/the Fixed Bedlam . Not so much for the other BM guy, not in attendance.0 -
The fixed Infidal very sexy looking but when you look at materials vs price. Paying a lot for sexy looking. I’d be drooling on my shoes if it used same top shelf material as the Altitude.
BKC continues to have too many aluminum handles, if they used G10, CF, micarta then I’d be parting with more cash than this lot going to shake out of my pockets.
Where the 943-1, mini & big Bugout & Fixed Bedlam?0 -
I might be down for a mini Crooked River. The full size didn't appeal to me, but a mini version I think I could go for. 0 -
I'm very stoked about the Vortex. Kind of a larger 490. Assisted flipper, sexy blade, Axis lock...

I'm in on the 417 Fact, the 133 Fixed Infidel, and the 495 Vector. Better start saving my nickles and dimes for that Gold Foray as well, that thing looks cool

Those are my top 2 picks.0 -
How are the scales attached to the fixed Infidel..? Are the removable? Bolt through into show side scale?
I'm just happy it's D2..0 -
Not sure why it's not getting much love but I'm pretty stoked to check out the 15061 Grizzly Ridge. 0 -

I actually really like the grey/orange theme on that knife. I like it a lot better than the Boost and Freek handles. If I were to buy a Griz though, it would be either the G-10 or wood version.0 -
Here are some more pictures and descriptions of the coming 2018 releases:

What do you all think of the looks and outlay of this one? The Altitude:
http://knifenewsroom.com/2017/...made-15200-altitude/
It appears to be a very useful small-scale fixed blade. Any idea on that steel and its cutting prowess? Very sleek and compact.
If you had a choice would you pick the black or the blaze orange? I like the black one.0 -
Thanks for the newsroom spam... Couple fixed in S90V is nice. Otherwise its an S30V bonanza. 0 -

I think the Altitude looks great...love the CF/G10 on the skeleton...Black for me, please.
Should be a slicing machine...have to see what edge bevel BM puts on it..easily remedied if too obtuse...the rest of the geometry looks good..FFG at that stock thickness...and w/ S90V...should be a laser. A part of me wishes it was of a little tougher steel, that was easier sharpened in the feild...but very glad its not S30V...and happy to pay the difference.
Looking forward to this more than the fixed Infidel in a way....as much as I want and will have the dagger, I'll use and carry the Altitude...that's the plan, anyway.0 -

Machined posts on the left side handles with threaded holes.0 -
Hey Jason, were you involved in the Grizzly Ridge? It seems to have a little Bugout in it - modern materials, economically priced. 0 -

I was not. It's a cool knife anyways.
It wishes it was a Bugout though. Hahaha.
It's definitely a pretty reasonable price for full liners, a pretty substantial blade, overmolded handle scales, and some sexy accent pieces. It's not really my personal style, but I think it'll do quite well.0 -
Thanks Jason 0 -
Well Jason with orange accents, it did seem to have your finger prints on it 0 -

Jason and Marty and others here: What do you think of the new Benchmade Bug Out folder as far as its performance goes in comparison to some of the older folders?
It looks very well made and tough and resilient and sharp and compact yet able to perform larger cutting chores.0 -

/|\ Even though Jason designed the Bugout, I sure he can give you an unbiased opinion on how great the ugout is.
Seriously considering price it is a GREAT knife, hide price tags still pretty dam good. For its size only thing I prefer is a Bob T’s Micro-star which cost 10 times as much. I also like it with aftermarket handles (lots of choices).
Buy can’t go wrong. :
PS I understand Jason (not BKC) is so confident he has a money back guarantee to any doesn’t like it out of the box.

Sorry, can’t officially comment on the Bugout.
I don’t own one.
Everyone else seems to.
Someone will chime in...0 -

There have been a couple reviews on the Bugout. I wrote a quick review of the Bugout. Which "older folders" did you want to compare to?0
