Sharpening talk...
I decided to put one of the 950 Forum Knives on the EdgePro for a little enhanced sharpening. I set it so the top of the EP bracket is halfway between the yellow and green marks, which should be something like 12 degrees per side. I used a 120 stone to make the major cut and then smoothed it out a little with a 220 stone. I'm pleased with the results...it's very sharp.

I was gonna stop at 400 grit , but went up to 600.
A course edge will last longer than a polished edge for some reason ......... at least in my experience. I suppose that too would depend on what you using it for.0 -

That is my experience as well, found it especially true on the more 'basic' steels like 154cm and S30v0 -

Coarse edge would mean it has micro serrations. Almost like sawing off rather than push to "cut". I agree that keeping between 400~600 may be due to laziness in my part as well, but the effort of mirror polishing super steel just to prepare may be a bit silly. Especially blade longer than 3", I don't think I need to have it super razor sharp.
I agree that if the blade shaves off my arm hair, I'm good with it.0
