761 loose blade?
I have a 761 and the blade now does not lock tight, it has play from front to back none from side to side. Has anyone else encountered this? Any suggestions on how to fix?

Yes, I have indeed encountered this repeatedly with my 761. Usually, my pivot gradually loosens, producing a little side to side play. Just remove the pocket clip and re tighten. I don't bother with locktight.
I own another 761 that had the same issue as yours. Consider that this model has an adjustable stop pin. Which is a bonus. Designed to be adjusted as the lock face wears over time, but I've heard from a few other guys who's NIB knife needed adjusting from the get go. This was a major gripe about the 761 for a lot of people.
Mine is perfect now, after minimal tinkering.

thanks for the info, the play on mine is front to back instead of side to side, will this fix this problem also? 0 -
It should...
If you can't get it just right, Benchmade's Lifesharp service will take care of that for you.
If you're willing to be without it for a little while, that is. See what you can do first, I say.
You'll get it, I bet.0 -

That's what the adjustable stop pin is for. Adjusting the pivot only takes out side-to-side play (although sometimes side-to-side can exacerbate or feel like up-and-down play).0 -
thanks everyone, I am going to give it a try, if no luck it can go back to benchmade, I know they will make it right. 0 -

Yeah, I meant to also add that if you don't feel like messing with it, we can absolutely service it for you. That's an easy fix.0
